1962年生。歴史研究者。歴史小説家。
幅広い史料を丹念に読み解き、
歴史の表舞台から追われた者たちに光を当てる。
長編歴史小説『宗春躍如』では新たな徳川宗春像を提示した。
小説の基となった、徳川宗春側室阿薫＝吉子内親王説、
伊勢音頭と宗春の関係、など実証的研究も発表している。
古代史では『日本書紀』の謡歌を史料として再評価し解読することにより
乙巳の変から壬申の乱に続く歴史の暗流とそれを
『日本書紀』が〈深層〉で記すに至った
驚くべき真相をあぶり出した。

He meticulously analyzes a wide range of historical materials, shedding light on those who were cast aside from the forefront of history.
His long-form historical novel, Muneharu Yakujo, presents a new image of Tokugawa Muneharu.
He has also published empirical research on topics such as the theory that Tokugawa Muneharu’s concubine, Akun, was Princess Yoshiko, and the relationship between Ise Ondo and Muneharu.
By re-evaluating and deciphering the songs in the Nihon Shoki as historical sources, he has uncovered the hidden currents of history from the Isshi Incident to the Jinshin War, and the astonishing truth behind how the Nihon Shoki came to record them in its “deep layers.”
